Boston AstronautThis time, I’ve got a different kind of behind the scenes interview for you: rather than visiting a place everyone knows about or talking to a famous Bostonian, every once in a while I’d like to introduce you to someone or something exciting who really is behind the scenes.

So today, we’ll go inside MIT to find a real, live astronaut who works right here in the Boston area. My guest has done something many of us dreamed of as a kid: ridden a rocket into space. And not just once, but five times.

I’m glad you liked the interview! I’m not changing the course of the show, just peppering it with some different stuff.

And yes, Jeff Hoffman is the astronaut at the bottom of the picture (not the one on the robotic arm).

What a different kind of interview with a person the average traveling Bostonian may not have the chance to meet! I walk by MIT everyday and although I know of the Dept. of Aeronautics and Astronautics, I don’t usually stop to wonder how many astronauts, if any, teach there. Very neat to know!! Makes me wonder if this more intimate, less public type of interview is the start of a kind of Boston Between the Scenes or a Meet the Cast kind of show.
I loved hearing from Jeff Hoffman. For someone who is so technically skilled and has been on some dangerous adventures, he seems so clam. I bet a lot of astronauts would want him as a member of their mission crew! Great interview. Is that him in the picture?

Great show! I have only been listening for about a week as I am catching up with some older episodes. This one was stellar!

You do a great professional job with the interviews. Thanks for being a good example of podcasting.

thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole
thing. Do you have any helpful hints for
novice blog writers? I’d definitely appreciate it.
